Re: [Day Four, Evening to Late Night] Halloween Spooktackular
"Oh good, I wasn't sure if I had scared you off or not." Fitz typically wore nice clothing, but usually with...disdain, almost. His hair was usually ruffled and tie askew, but now it was combed back, and with robes tailored to look as if they had belonged to a suit-coat. When everything came togeth...

"W-what?"
Was ruffling people's hair after an exchange like that... normal? She'd never seen *that* particular behavior in any wizard romcoms. Maybe it was new? Maybe... maybe it was... maybe she didn't have time to think about it as he seemed to leave and blurt something out again.
"O-oh okay?"

Re: [Day Four, Evening to Late Night] Halloween Spooktackular
Xanthe did not dress up. She didn't even know *how* to! Sure, she'd made sure she was *presentable* and everything, but how did one dress up for one of these things anyhow? Besides, people would just make jokes about her again anyway. Probably like how she didn't need a costume to be creepy or spook...

She looked in his direction for a moment, then away again when he started reciting poetry.
"S-shut up! You don't have to say all that... stuff. Just to make fun of me..."
"I mean I'll go... I mean, if this isn't just a prank."

This was stupid. Nobody liked her; this year was turning out to be exactly the same as all the others. And... and then Fitz asked her out. Or... tried to? She wasn't sure what was going on, and her brain seemed to shortcircuit for a moment. Wait, *did* he just imply he wanted to ask her out? It *see...

"What? Who said we were a thing?" She blinked; nobody ever shared gossip with her. Especially when it as about herself, of course. She failed to listen to the rest of what he was saying to her, except; wait, what was that about lucky? Huh?
"Uh, yeah. I guess? This stuff is hard."

What? Why would he think it was any easier for her? In fact, she was pretty sure it had to be harder. The assumption made her feel uncomfortable; because it meant that now she had to dispel it. Unless she wanted to just lie about it of course, but that seemed a bit petty. "I... uh... he turned me do...

Re: (Day 3, 30th, Early Evening) The No Date Society (Tag Xanthe)
Xanthe was there in the common room... albeit in a dark and quiet corner where she was sulking over the same thing Fitz was. She stayed quiet when he asked his question, several years worth of experience having told her that this was one of those 'rhetorical' questions that didn't need to be answere...

Me? Go out with you? [Assorted, Day 3]
Xanthe didn't really *get* the whole dating thing. It was a terrifying prospect in any case, trying to find someone to go with, especially with her reputation. But she *had* promised herself to be more bold, and that meant she could be the one to ask someone out. And if she was going to do that, the...

Re: [Day Three, Mid-Term] I Have No Idea What I'm Doing
Lots of people thought Xanthe was a practicioner of the Dark Arts; truth was that she was at best, mildly proficient in the subject, and not much for actually *casting* them on others. Still, some curses *could* be applied for good. At least the minor ones, which were even taught in Defense Against ...

Re: [Day Three, Mid-Term] This is Fine
Broomsmanship wasn't the sort of cerebral pursuit people often assumed Xanthe was into, despite being a Thunderbird. Still, she wasn't half bad at it. In fact, no, scratch that, she was pretty damn *amazing*, if she said so herself. She showcased some exceptional control, and at breaknecking speed t...

Re: [Day Three, Mid-Term] Hold My Gigglewater and Watch This
Xanthe had never shown much skill with jinxes and hexes in previous years; but this year had been different. Not only had she used them to great effect in that duel at the start of the year, but she was also displaying ample ability with them in her midterms. It was only natural; with how much she'd...

"I thought cats didn't like water?" She had trouble imagining an underwater panther. "Well, never heard about a core like that, but you're the expert. Are such cores rare?"

This is invigorating? (Xanthe & Arlington)
Xanthe usually got picked last for these types of things. That wasn't necessarily just because of her reputation... at least not when it came to potions. She just didn't have much talent for it. But she *had* somehow managed to get a little more friendly with Arlington recently, and so this time she...

She took the wand, treating it with respect when doing so. She certainly wasn't going to flick it around to try casting any spells with it, but even without that it wasn't right to show it anything but care.

"I don't know," she said, "I don't know if it *does* unlock something. Could just be part of the design. Oh, and the core comes from a dragon, I've been told."
She put the wand away again, before asking; "What about yours?"

Re: [D1, Early Evening] It's Time to View the Duel (Wampus Basement)
When Xanthe's name was *very loudly* announced by miss Lockhart, she thought that the time had come for more angry yelling. Instead she was the subject of 'praise'. Well, the announcement that she'd won, at least; with *some* disapproval. And then cheers. Probably with some disapproval there, as wel...

"Wands? Are you going to be making them when you're done with school?"
She didn't actually know a whole about wands, including her own come to think of it.
"Is what you've been learning from your grandfather?"
