All right, folks - it's time we talk schedules. The Older Man, Flession, and I have been rather quiet on this subject because it's something we're still a little unsure of and there may be some wiggle room.
Ilvermorny's 2019-2020 school year will be divided into, technically, five sessions. Dates are flexible as necessary to adjust for various occurences.
Session One: First Term, Front Half
Day One: September 2nd and September 3rd
Welcome back to Ilvermorny, students! Arrive at New Ashford, take the bus to school, witness the Sorting Ceremony, and feast before heading to classes the next day! Begins on November 1st and runs until November 7th.
Day Two: September 4th to October 28th
Settle into your first term, go to class, and experience the wacky antics of a school full of American wizards. Begins on November 8th and runs until November 14th.
Day Three: October 29th and October 30th
Complete mid-terms for your classes and, when the stress is finally done, prepare for the upcoming Halloween Spooktacular! Most students think it's a terrible name for a dance but Headmaster King thinks it's "hip" - and it's hard to convince him otherwise. Wait - what do you mean you don't have a date? Begins on November 15th and runs until November 19th.
Day Four: October 31st
Students have trouble keeping their minds on class as the Halloween Spooktacular arrives... along with an extra visitor or two. Begins on November 20th and runs until November 23rd.
Session Two: First Term, Back Half
Day Five: November 1st to November 27th
The year is just whizzing by - but life is anything but normal for the kids at Ilvermorny. They have to navigate through the challenges of being a teenage witch - mostly without the help of a wise cracking cat. Begins on November 24th and runs until November 29th.
Day Six: November 28th
What are you thankful for? Is it perhaps the giant feast and the dance afterwards? It's about this time most of the transfer students start to think that maybe the American wizarding communities like their dances a little too much... Begins on November 30th and runs until December 3rd.
Day Seven: November 29th to December 19th
The term is pressing on and snows start to bury the castle. Perhaps there's new secrets to discover about the school to keep away the winter blues? Begins on December 4th and runs until December 9th.
Day Eight: December 20th
It's time for the final tests of the term before Holiday Break! Don't panic and get ready to relax at the Saturnalia Dance before some students leave in the morning for home! Begins on December 10th and runs until December 14th.
Session Three: Holiday Break
Not everyone goes home for the holidays and life continues on at the school, though much quieter. Begins on December 15th...
And on...
Right now, our focus is on the first half of the school year and saving some surprises for the second half of the year. Once we get closer to holiday break, we'll share the rest of the schedule with everyone.
