All Aboard the Beetle Bus!

Jay chuckled at Mischa's comment but let the boy continue talking rather than interrupt with a reply. He nods along and laughs a little at the end.

"Well you tell your cousins to get Drumstrang to come over here in that creepy ass ship they have and play us in any sport and we'll show them who's better." He exclaimed with a self assured grin and then flexed an arm a little "and yeah I spent the summer practicing with a local football team, really helped keep me in shape in the off season. Especially with Margret trying to fatten me up with her cooking." Margret was the house keeper of the Mason family and the one who practically raised Jerric.

"It comes and goes." Arlington mumbled.

That got a hearthy chuckle out of him

"Ha, they're just jealous we have a school that's actually warm at some point during the year." He grinned again while listening and bouncing slightly in the seat. Mischa rarely kept still when excited. "Looking forward to the feast then? Aunt Primakova's food is OK but it's a bit heavy of you know what I mean?"

"Yeah I know what you mean, I've tried some of thise treats she sent you a couple years back."

Jay smirked watching Mischa "Well I dont need to ask if you're excited for the new year to start. You're literally bouncing with energy."

[Cian]

Grace sat at the end of the bus, where all the cool kids were at. For now, she was content to just sit, and see who joined her. She fiddled with her wand, eagerly awaiting the chance to finally let loose once again with her awesome magical power...in a responsible setting, of course.

Heading straight to the back of the bus, too, was Cian. Hopping into the seat just in front of Grace he knelt backwards, looking over the top of the seat back to the girl.

"You're new, or I'm wrong," he said, wearing a cocky grin.

[Mischa Primakov]

"Stodge." He nodded. "We do stodge very well back in the Motherland."

Perhaps realising for the first time, in the last five minutes, that he was bouncing he grinned a little sheepishly.

"Just happy to be back. Summer is fine and all, but you don't get to do much magic . . . " He lowered his voice. " . . . except my cousins taught me a new trick. I'll tell you later."

Heading straight to the back of the bus, too, was Cian. Hopping into the seat just in front of Grace he knelt backwards, looking over the top of the seat back to the girl.

"You're new, or I'm wrong," he said, wearing a cocky grin.

Grace pursed her glossy lips in annoyance, as she looked at the boy in front of her. "You are definitely wrong." Her reply was cold, crisp and posh. The nerve! She was among the chief party organizers!

Jay leaned in a little when Mischa lowered his voice and nodded "I'll look forward to it, library after the opening ceremony?"

Jay scoffed a bit with a smirk on his lips as he sat back "You dont get to do any magic unless you're breaking some laws. I admit to missing it as well. My dueling technique always gets a little rusty over the summer and takes weeks to get back into the swing of things, some with handling a broom. I understand why and everything, still a bit annoying."

[Faith Cassidy]

"Here, Dawkins." Faith called as she walked towards the bus. She lowered her bag off of her shoulder for a moment, holding it down by her side, and scampering out came Dawkins, the sleek, short-tailed weasel. With a small hop he pounced onto the bag that swung nonchalantly down by her side, not breaking stride as it climbed up further and spiraled up her arm to get a nice high perch to peer around as she boarded the bus.

She slid herself into a seat, at which point Dawkins climbed down and sprawled his way across her lap with his front and back legs extended straight out, jamming his head into her leg and seemingly falling asleep. She looked around at the conversations that had already started throughout the bus, scratching his head with one finger absentmindedly.

"Here, Dawkins." Faith called as she walked towards the bus. She lowered her bag off of her shoulder for a moment, holding it down by her side, and scampering out came Dawkins, the sleek, short-tailed weasel. As Faith entered the bus Jay looked up and his smile while still present and friendly had gained a self conscious quality. The usual assured nature of it replaced with a bit of uncertainty "Oh hey Faith...did you uh have a good summer?"

[Ondine Corbeau]

"Just like your wit, Arlie. Spare some for the rest of the semester." Ondine replied quickly on her way up toward the elevated section of seats playing with yo-yo just above the guys' heads. "You'd do much better entertaining with stories of the breaktime. Unless you're ashamed of its uneventfulness?"

[Arlington Wayne]

"Mostly, I tried to lose myself in the woods, Ondine." His eyes were still closed. "The usual. I'm pretty sure I heard a Jobberknoll's death scream, though."

[Ondine Corbeau]

"You didn't care to look for it for the feathers?"

[Arlington Wayne]

"I found those after I heard an odd scream, so I'm pretty sure it died." he replied. "But, I couldn't find anything else. Grandpa always says not to make assumptions."

[Mischa Primakov]

Jay leaned in a little when Mischa lowered his voice and nodded "I'll look forward to it, library after the opening ceremony?"

Mischa's smile became pure 'Oh it's like that is it?' as he turned and greeted the Pukwudgie.

"Hi Faith."

Faith glanced over at Jay, doing her best to turn a bit without disturbing the already passed out animal draped across her lap. At his question, she considered for just a moment. "Summer was alright, I s'pose." she said with a small shrug. As usual, not a whole lot of detail. It wasn't that she wasn't talkative, she was most of the times, sometimes downright bubbly, just...not about certain things.

"Glad to be back. How was your summer? You too, Mischa; how are my favorite Wampuses doing? Wamp- Wampii? I feel like we talked about this last year and decided on something. Pukwudgies, Thunderbirds, Horned Serpents and....Wampii?"

Mischa's smile became pure 'Oh it's like that is it?' as he turned and greeted the Pukwudgie.

"Hi Faith."

Jay noticed the smile and subtly nudged his fellow Wumpus with his elbow.

Faith glanced over at Jay, doing her best to turn a bit without disturbing the already passed out animal draped across her lap. At his question, she considered for just a moment. "Summer was alright, I s'pose." she said with a small shrug. As usual, not a whole lot of detail. "I think we did yeah, settled on uhh Wumpii, But uh yeah summer was great, family and all that. Glad to be back in school though, missed practicing magic and friends and stuff like that."

[Mischa Primakov]

Mischa ignored the elbow.

"Great summer, thanks. Some family from Russia came over. One big Primakov gathering so I could prove that Ilvermorny is better than Durmstrang."

He grinned mischievously.

"Like the dances we have. Some big ones coming up this year we need to be ready for."

[Cian]

Grace pursed her glossy lips in annoyance, as she looked at the boy in front of her. "You are definitely wrong." Her reply was cold, crisp and posh. The nerve! She was among the chief party organizers!

"Been wrong before, happens sometimes," he shrugged, shifting toward the middle of the seat he was leaning over. Grinning like a bandit, "Maybe I've seen you at a party somewhere before then?"

[Arlington Wayne]

"Death also comes and goes." She mused, focusing on the yo-yo. "Have you done something with those feathers? I'd have ideas."

"Granpa bought them off me." he shook his head. "That's the usual deal, he sends me out to harvest certain components and pays me extra for whatever else I find."

[Layla Smith]

She smiled, "Pukwudgie. I got picked by Wampus and Thunderbird but went with the one none of my brothers or parents had been in. My family has the whole... Heritage thing going for it too, but it's not as big here at Ilvermorny as I hear it is at Hogwarts. Oh, and it's pronounced OOH-ROO. But I don't mind what you call me as long as it's not to get a rise out of me."

"Being picked by three houses is a big deal from what I understand. That kind of thing doesn't happen at Hogwarts, they put the hat on you and it talks with itself before declaring which house you go in. I'm kinda curious to see the statues. Might look into how other schools do it too, I assumed everyone had a sorting hat!"

She then blushed.

"Oh I'm so sorry! Ohroo? Is that correct? I'm so embarrassed to have said your name wrong."

[Faith Cassidy]

Faith glanced between the two of them, at least noting the elbowing back and forth, though the only hint of acknowledgement was a sly smile and a slightly raised eyebrow.

"That's good; I do miss magic, wish we could use it as long as we knew no one was around. Was out in the middle of nowhere hiking at one point during the summer, not like anyone would have seen." she said with a small shrug.

"Right, I forgot." she said about the dances. She liked dancing, though was more of a dancing with friends for fun and to be silly than big formal affair kind of person. She did have a love of R&B, Hip-Hop, and funk that was at first was sometimes a bit off putting or surprising to those that made assumptions about her musical tastes based solely on the southern sweetness of her accent.

"Durmstrang should come visit sometime; they go and visit Hogwarts sometimes, don't they?"

[Ondine Corbeau]

Ondine moved on from her idea quickly, scattering its shards on the proverbial wind.

"So what are you going to do with all that extra money?"

He opened his eyes and looked at her.

"I haven't decided." he shrugged. "A boat would be nice, so I could spend more time on the lakes. But, that's a lot of feathers."
