Practice Practice [Day 1, Late Evening?]

[Cian]

Stood in the common sitting area on the first floor Cian held his wand in hand, he started thinking to himself. Thinking about, well, he wasn't quite sure. There was something he felt he needed to do, something he wanted to figure out. Yet, where to even start? What was he even really aiming for here tonight? Some spells, perhaps?

Cian shook his head, walked over to the table and put his wand down. Then spun about and threw a hand through his hair.

[Uru Miskwa'a]

A figure stood leaning on the doorway to the corridor which took the girls to their room in the Pukwudgie dorm.

"Something on your mind, friend?" She said with a smile as she straightened up and then walked into the common room.

[Cian]

"Nothing, everything, nothin' special," he said with his customary smirk.

Shifting his hands into the pockets of his jacket he pushed it outward slightly. Seeming to almost use it as a balance as he leaned backward a bit on one foot before leaning himself forward and letting the momentum take him with it. Using that he walked closer, in the small space.

"See you're headed up already?"

[Uru Miskwa'a]

"You need to get your eyes checked then. Coming back from settling my things in." She said with a smirk and a tilt of her head.

"So what's everything and nothing? Sounds like some sort of mo-maj philosophy riddle."

[Cian]

"Guess'n I'm lookin' into glasses soon then," he grinned, raising his hand toward the inner part of the room, notably still inside the pocket it raised his jacket with it. Toward the empty seats that seemed to just be waiting for a pair of folks to chat in them. "Would you be so kind as to guide me back to my seat then? I think I'm afraid I won't be able to find my way back."

[Uru Miskwa'a]

"Poor lost Cian. I guess it wouldn't be kind of me to let you wander the halls by yourself." She said with a smile as she headed back to the seats.

Once seated she made herself comfortable on the arm of the chair and asked, "So... how's it being back at school?"

[Cian]

Cian followed alongside Uru, taking up a seat by letting himself fall into it with guided effort. "Like nothing's changed," he said with a grin but also a glance outside the nearby window.

"You? Ack-le-mae-ting yourself well?" he pulled apart the word, probably just to be obnoxious. Mimicking someone or something he heard, somewhere, for sure.

She gently bumped her knees together while nodding, "Easy enough. Always a pain to have to think about classes and doing schoolwork again..."

She opened her mouth and pointed at her tongue, "Blech!"

[Cian]

Cian smirked.

"Eh," he shrugged, paused the thought. "Not somethin' I'm lookin' forward to," he put his arms out on the arm rests and leaned back into the seat, his head falling back so that he was looking at the ceiling, "for sure."

[Uru Miskwa'a]

"So what are you looking forward to?" She asked.

[Cian]

Kicking up his feet he placed them firmly, comfortably, on the small end table nearby. Looking back up, arms across the arms and shifted back into the seat. For certain, Cian looked like he owned the chair and the space immediately around himself. Confidence, which he had plenty of, was key.

"Enjoying my last year, get into some trouble maybe, maybe not. See what I can dig up, and eh.. when it comes to it hearing we're gonna have another year packed with parties. Might swing by a few, might not," he shrugged.

[Uru Miskwa'a]

"Your last year?" She asked.

[Cian]

"Last year for more play than work, hell yea," he said, lounging comfortably. "See, way I figure it. After this year I'm going to give it my all, really show some people what I'm made of. Show'm what I got, right? So, this year, last year for some laid back nonsense. And this year, I intend to get up into some nonsense."

[Uru Miskwa'a]

She smiled and laughed. “You’re right! This is a great year to have some fun! We’re finally old enough to have some idea of what we’re doing but not too old to have to worry about the ‘future’.”

She said the ‘future’ like it was a nasty dish of brusselsprouts and fermented soy beans.

“No better time than now to enjoy life.”

[Cian]

"Right on," he said with a corny grin, smirking afterwards, and then nodding his head toward her. "How you gonna do it? Enjoy your life, no worries for the future, an'all."

[Uru Miskwa'a]

She leaned back and looked up at the roof for a long moment. Eventually she opened her mouth to speak but stopped a second after.

“I don’t know. I’m not much of a planner. Things happen and I try and make the ride a bit funner.”

She lowered her eyes down to Cian and shrugged, “I guess I’ll just try to make the best out of whatever craziness comes along.”

She then smiled again, “Ilvermorny is never without some form of amusement.”

[Cian]

"Not with me around," he shot a grin.

"I'm thinking," he quickly shifted his legs off the table and swung them so that they hit the ground in such a way that within the next second he was standing, "that I'm gonna drag you in on some stuff."

He moved over to some bookshelf that was surely nearby, "Not that I have any ideas, on what that'll be yet, but uh... I'm sure I'll come up with something?"

Cian then pulled a book down and skimmed through it, as if he were looking for something in particular. He wasn't. Uru knew he wasn't, for sure. What's the point of pretending otherwise?

[Uru Miskwa'a]

Uru smiled softly at the Cian she'd come to know through five years of school.

“That a diary left by an infamous Pukwidgie prankster or something?”

[Cian]

Spinning about on the heel of his foot he closed the book in a soft snap and pointed it in her direction. "Exactly that!" he said, turning the book over in his hand with deft hands. Despite all the motion, the actual name of the book never actually appeared to come into view. This was, by his crafty hand work, entirely intentional.

"Not really though, anyway, never know what you might find in these books. Secret love notes to admirers from ages past, maybe even an old professor or something who was once a student, yea? Plenty of opportunity in all these books," he said, and certainly though a Horned Serpent would have agreed wholeheartedly with his words, their true meaning as Cian intended them would only make them cry.

[Uru Miskwa'a]

She laughed and asked with raising excitement in her voice, “Can you imagine to find a love note by Phineas... come to think of it... eww.”

She stuck her tongue out in disgust, “Probably best if something like that finds its way to the restricted section.”

[Cian]

"Aha!" he exclaimed excitedly, playing up his voice in a mock-heroic manner, "I shall do the service then of removing the offending articles so that daring maidens and lads who are not yet ready for them need not discover the forbidden prose!"

Cian chuckled, slipping the book quickly from one hand to the other and then thrusting it upward in mock triumph. Almost alike someone who might start preaching on the books contents, he held it up for a few seconds only before dropping his hand back down to his side.

"It's a risk I'm willing to take," he said with a grin, dropping the mock-hero, "imagine if instead I found a love-letter to Ms. Lockhart? Or maybe, if she wrote one to a Pukwudgie some day and they stashed it in one of these books for safekeeping. Only to lose track of it among them all!"

“Oh, I see. You’ve got the hots for Prof. Lockhart.” She replied with a grin.

[Cian]

Twisting around he slid the book back among the others, smirking as he returned and walked over toward his original seat.

"Can you blame me?" he said, raising his shoulders into a shrug, a smirk propped up to one side of his face.

[Uru Miskwa'a]

"I mean... I can." She said with a smirk.

"But I suppose I won't. I do expect you to flirt with her next time we're in her class though." She replied with a mischievous grin.

[Cian]

"Don't know if that's somethin' I'm gonna do," he threw his arms up a bit to give a natural look to his shrug and then in almost the same moment allowed himself to fall backward into his original seat. Propping himself up, feet on the table, just as he had before.

"But maybe," he smirked. "What's your stake in that I wonder, Uru? Waiting to cheer me on for my success or just gonna be finding it fun to watch me fail?" he grinned more broadly.
