General Discussion, Part 0: Your Ilvermorny Letter

Dearest Students of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!

While usually these letters would be penned by the deputy headmaster of our most illustrious school, my dear friend Phineus Maximus, I have taken it upon myself to write this year as it is such a rare incident that a new headmaster steps in to fill such great shoes.

As you are no doubt aware, Agilbert Fontaine has stepped down from his position as headmaster to a new appointment as MACUSA’s Ambassador Abroad and I, Zeloph King, have been asked to fill the vacancy. One of my primary beliefs in life being that the education of young wizards and witches should be a focus of our society, I have graciously accepted and look forward to the coming years governing the school.

With that - let me welcome you to your fifth year at Ilvermorny!

As you are all aware, at the end of this year you will undertake your Impressive Magical Preparation examinations. Due to the importance of these examinations in your future, I expect your full focus will be on your studies this year.

Please find attached your list of supplies for your selected courses this year.

I look forward to seeing each and everyone of you when we hold our opening feast for the year on September 2nd with classes beginning the next day. Do remember your Gordian Knot and, should you find you have misplaced it, dispatch a return owl post-haste and a Pukwudgie will be dispatched with a replacement immediately (do be sure to give the fellow a treat).
